  • I like the title and tagline... but I read it as friendly rather than ominous!
  • Card trick element is great - a really nice aspect and offers 'difference' (Neale)
  • Clearly excellent research and time into the concept but delivery is a little reliant on cards (more script reading than notes). Structure is solid.
  • Great to see Van Zoonen applied and a very positive ideas in terms of representation.
  • More theory in there but not all explained - E.g. hyperreality needs more explanation.
  • Pickpocket element would need to be handled carefully.
  • Does 16-30 audience meet the brief?
  • C4 works for this concept but social media points are too general with no specific ideas for your concept.
  • Lacking in terms of media language - this is an area you would need to address in statement of intent.
  • Q+A - initial closed question but then handles next Q nicely. Does rather suggest a lack of planning of some elements which you can address in the statement of intent.

2) Use this feedback, comments from peers and your own reflection on your presentation to self-assess and write a detailed WWW and EBI for your own coursework concept and presentation as a whole.

WWW:

  • Concept and Media language is very solid
  • Unique concept
  • Considered international audiences
  • Good applications of media theories
  • Detailed character narrative

EBI:

  • Tagline and title are very similar
  • Look up ad make eye contact
  • How will you communicate roles?
  • How will the drama wrap up
  • Talk about the near end episode

3) Write a paragraph discussing how your presentation will lead into your actual coursework production. Do you need to update your statement of intent? Does your narrative offer enough clarity? Is it appropriate for the audience specified in the brief? Does it fit the genre you are aiming for? Can you add media terminology or theory to your statement of intent now you have reflected on your presentation and seen others?

I think my delivery definitely needs working on with more confidence in speaking and making eye contact with the audience. I know that I will change the amount of episodes in my drama. After listening to some feedback after my presentation, it seems like 20 episodes will be far too long and I have decided to change it to a 7 episode drama instead. I feel like my concept is fitting for the genre I am aiming for but more media terminology would help with the overall understanding of how the trailer would be shot.
