Most of the aspects in Deutschland 83 were very accurate to the time period it was set in. The set and costumes are definitely what made the drama feel real but some props would be harder to recreate due to a lack of resources to fid out about the original items used back then although some document props were made to look extremely official ad real.

Apart from the music, the editing also helped build an appeal towards the audience. The fast editing meant audiences don't get bored from looking at the same picture. This gives audiences a more on the edge experience. The clips used also are real clips and pictures like the missile. This gives the realistic aspect of the drama which again can appeal to audiences.
