- Nice opening shots and jump cuts
- Opening dialogue not entirely convincing - would two females approach a man randomly asking for a card trick
- Audio the main issue - levels background noises etc.
- Camerawork and editing for the card trick needs a lot more shots/pace. If either needs to be quick or the audience need to be able to follow the trick
2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write three WWW bullet points and three EBI bullet points for your TV drama scene.
WWW:
- clever use of cinematography
- all aspects of mise-en-scene fitted with the concept of the drama
- clever narrative
EBI:
- sound/audio quality issue-use
- Use one device
- Choose a different song
3) How effectively did you complete the objective you laid out in your mini preliminary exercise statement of intent?
Effective to a certain extent, the actual story line seemed to play through but perhaps a bit unrealistic in terms of real life scenarios.
4) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project?
To definitely only use one device. To spread out my timings for filming and to find well chosen setting to film on. This in particular goes towards any of the dialogue scenes as it may be difficult to hear the actual conversation that is key to the narrative.
5) Now you have completed the preliminary exercise, will you change anything in your actual TV drama trailer? This could include narrative, character and script or technical elements such as mise-en-scene, camerawork and sound.
Yes. The destination would most likely change into something indoors due to wind and traffic sounds. Another thing i would change for sure would be the usage of one device only as the quality in both sound and visuals. As for the characters, I would most likely choose to keep them the same as it fits the narrative.
